Debbie McWilliam from Elgin is the creative mind behind McWilD. Her passion for yarn began early, learning to knit from her Mum and Nana while watching her Dad crochet beautiful lace doilies. Creativity clearly runs in the family!

In 2017, life forced her to slow her pace, giving her the opportunity to teach herself crochet and build on her yarn skills.

By 2022, McWilD was born, offering bespoke, cosy creations made to order – if you can dream it, she can make it.

In 2023, encouraged to share her skills, Debbie began teaching knitting and crochet at Greenbrae Steading in Hopeman, where she still holds weekly classes.

Beyond teaching heritage crafts, McWilD classes focus on community – bringing together like-minded people to slow down, connect, share stories, and support one another in the midst of busy lives.
